Mobile Web

Page history last edited by Hailey Morrison 14 years, 10 months ago

One half of all internet searches for local products and services are performed from mobile devices [1].

Morgan Stanley analysts have charted the most important online trends and predicted the future of the Internet. The study also shows a dramatic shift toward mobile web use, the final statement is that "mobile web will rule by 2015" [2].

[3]

Online ad sales are growing, but virtual goods, premium content and other models are big business, especially for the mobile web [4]. Marketers are very slowly seeing the value in having a mobile webpage, but still only around 1% have one [5].

Online Communities

The fact that Smartphone owners and users will be able to be apart of online communities 24/7 will mean great things for these communities where sites like Pintrest, Facebook, Mumsnet will be never lacking in the flow of information. Facebook is already the single largest repository for user-generated content such as pics, videos, links and comments, and that lead is steadily growing [6].

Conformity

With such a huge increase in the number of people using mobile web and its soon to be total domination, consumers typically will face 'Internalization' or 'Ingratiational' conformity, though there will be a minority who conform unwillingly.
